There are several types of health problems at are linked to extra fat in the belly region including heart problems and certain cancers. In order to decrease these risks you will need to drop the pounds from the bell with a healthy diet and good exercise routine.
    The level of difficulty for doing this is moderately easy.

    1. The first thing you should do is to get a membership at your local gym. While you can purchase your own exercise equipment, going to a gym allows you the option of varying the exercises you do in your routine more. It will also give you the option of working out with other people which will increase your chances of success in weight loss.

    2. Another thing you will want to do is to keep track of any progress that you make by recording measurements of your waist. Either your physician or one of the trainers at the gym can help you to do this and to measure the amount of body fat that you have as well. The truth is that it is impossible to work off fat from just one location on the body, you will need to workout your whole body in order to lose the belly fat.

    3. Something else that is helpful in weight loss is to eat 5 or 6 smaller meals throughout the day rather than eating larger meals and then being tempted to snack in between. Eating smaller amounts more often keeps your energy level higher and allows your body to burn through small amounts of food at a time rather than storing fat from overeating. Make sure that you are eating enough to feel satisfied throughout the day, if you still feel hungry then alter your diet some in order to change that. You need to be eating enough to support the energy you will need to have to workout. The best way to make sure that you are getting the right foods is to go with a low sugar and fat diet that includes whole grains, veggies, fruit, and lean protein. Make sure that you are drinking plenty of water as well, this will help your body to eliminate all the things that it doesn’t need and keep you hydrated when you are working out.

    4. You will want to ensure that you are doing both weight training exercise as well as cardio exercise. Your cardio should consist of half hour workout sessions 4 or 5 days each week, and using your weights 2 to 3 days each week. This will give you the winning combination of burning calories by getting the blood flowing and replacing the fat with muscle to get a leaner look. The other thing that building more muscle with weight training does is to make it to where you are burning more calories even when you are not exercising. This is because your body uses more calories to support muscles that what it does to support fat. This will give you the total body fat loss that you need in order to burn away the belly fat.

    5. Make sure that your exercise routine includes exercises that give your abs a workout too. There are several different ways to workout your abs, just make sure that you are targeting all the muscle groups in the abdomen area. Ensuring that you are creating lean muscle mass in your abdomen will give you a better looking stomach when you do manage to loose the fat from that area.

    6. Make sure that you are keeping your stress levels under control. The hormonal reaction that occurs when we get stressed out is one of the leading causes of belly fat. There are many different ways to help control stress levels and exercise is one of them, but so are deep breathing exercises and meditation.
