Child Labor is an Evil ThingQuote:
"There can be no keener revelation of a society's soul Than the way in which it treats its children"-Nelson Mandela
According to the federal bureau of statistics, 8 to 19 million children in Pakistan are forced to child labour, and they age between 5 to 14 years.
What is child labour?it is working during early age especially for low pay.from industries to home, all we see are children working. At such an innocent age, with their delicate hands work to feed their families. We go to "Dhabbas" and call them "Chottu" but we ever wondered how much responsibilities their feeble shoulders carry?
In carpet industry, their fine little fingers weave the tiniest of knots to create the most expensive carpets but not a computer keyboard in some school to be able to survive in this era of technology.
Girls are forced to household labour where they may have to face sexual harassment, their health deteriorates.
Why are children compelled to work?
Because of poverty and illiteracy. Parents don't send their kids to schools either they can't afford, or they think education doesn't lead to marketable skills. However, they are wrong!
Poverty can't be eradicated through child labour; instead, it'd continue to their generations.
This evil must end! But how?the foremost responsibility is of state to provide basic necessities and equal opportunities to children for education.many positive laws have been passed to stop this practice, but an implementation is required.
As a society, we must create awareness among masses to educate their children.
Our collective motto must be:
"Don't ask children to take Tool, Instead send them to School."
